My best friend Meg is getting married this weekend and we leave for the east coast tonight on a redeye. Here are just a few of my favorite, Facebook-documented (some archived on the ‘book from pre-Facebook days) times with, as my dad calls her, “The Megster.”
She and I know each other as well as we know ourselves (if that makes sense). We chat, even if only briefly, almost every day now that we’re 3,000 miles away from each other for most of the year. She’s visited me, with her then-future fiance, Tom, and our other Quonnie friends back in 2008, and I try to see her (as well as the rest of the Quonnie crew) almost every time I’m back east for a holiday or special occasion.
Not to be cheesy, but she’s as close to a sister as one can get without being biologically related. We bicker over the stupidest things because we’re both pretty stubborn and she is RIDICULOUSLY sassy, but I love her more than anything. Tom is really lucky, and I’m glad Meg found such a wonderful guy.
Anyway, so this is more of a personal post, but I wanted to say at least something on here to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
Oh and on a second note, the fact that Meg and Tom are both Quonnie kids make this wedding the first Quonnie-Quonnie wedding of our group. No clue if there will be others, so this is quite the momentous occasion for our Q crew.
